Troubleshooting Your Piercing
Noticing something a little off?
Don’t panic — piercings can be a bit temperamental sometimes. Here are a few common things to watch for, and what you can do:
-
Redness, swelling, or tenderness:Some irritation is totally normal, especially in the first few weeks. Keep up with your aftercare and avoid sleeping on or bumping the area.

-
A little bleeding or crusties: Totally normal in the early healing stages. Gently clean with saline as directed — no picking!

-
A bump forming:This could be from pressure, irritation, or even sleeping on it. Let me know — I can help you figure out what’s causing it and how to calm it down.
-
Jewelry shifting or tilting:
This can happen if the area gets swollen or irritated. Don’t try to fix it yourself — reach out to me so I can take a look and guide you safely.

-
Signs of infection (rare but important):
If you notice increased pain, swelling, warmth, pus (especially yellow/green), or feel feverish — contact me right away and consider seeing a doctor. Better safe than sorry!
Healing Timelines for Your New Piercings
How Long Will My Piercing Take to Heal?
Every piercing is its own journey — and every body heals at its own pace. These time frames are a guide, but the most important thing is to honor the process and let your body lead the way.
-
Lobe Piercing — 6–8 weeks
The quickest to settle in, lobes are a beautiful starting point. With consistent care, you’ll be enjoying your new adornment in no time.

-
Helix & Flat Piercing — 6–12 months
Cartilage heals slowly and needs gentle care. Give it time, avoid sleeping on it, and let it rest undisturbed as it mends.
-
Tragus Piercing — 6-12 months
A delicate piercing that appreciates patience. Be mindful of pressure and keep it snag-free as it heals.
-
Conch Piercing — 6–12 months
This one takes its time — but with care and attention, your conch will settle beautifully.

-
Nostril Piercing — 2–4 months
Nostril piercings often feel better quickly, but deeper layers take time to heal. Wait before swapping jewelry — it’s worth it.

-
Navel Piercing — 6–12 months
Belly piercings are slow healers, but with patience and care, you’ll have a beautifully settled adornment that lasts

-
Nipple Piercing: 6 months to 12 months
Nipple piercings are a beautiful commitment — one that asks for time and patience. Most will take 6–12 months to fully heal, though every body has its own rhythm.

Healing times vary for everyone, so listen to your body and don’t rush the process! Be sure to follow your aftercare routine and check in with me if anything feels off.
